must see tv

kinda odd that the year the great michael jeffrey jordan makes the hall of fame we re-visit the bulls celtics. who'd have thought a year ago that rose vs rondo would be the match-up of the playoffs. three overtimes in the last five games has turned this into a must watch series. the economy may be in the dumps but the nba is delivering for us in a major way. remember we were all supposed to jump ahead to june and watch kobe vs lebron. from the dismantle of the spurs to the emergence of the blazers this is must see tv. the 76ers are playing tough against the magic and even the hawks have been fun to watch. with all that said the bulls and celtics is the one that keeps us glued to our seats. that is when you aren't jumping out of your seat yelling at your tv. rose is playing like he has been around for a few years while gordon looks like he is playing for next years contract. no garnett has kept this series close and fun to watch. if these playoffs are a prelude to whats to come then we are all in for a treat. with the possible kobe vs lebron match-up at the end, these are the best playoffs of my young life if not of all time.

Barry Bonds Sighting

a very odd occurrence happened yesterday in sports. not the 58 point win by the nuggets. barry bonds shows up to watch his former team at home verse the dodgers. with just over 30,000 in attendance most of the sports world only saw it on sports center. the lakers had most of california's attention monday night as they knocked out the jazz to move forward to the next round. innocent til proven guilty is a strong motto in this country and we have all washed our hands with bonds and the others from the steroid scandal. yes we want to protect our records from the only sport where records are even payed attention to. my problem is this... if bonds goes deep against a pitcher who was 'roided than who has the advantage? in a league where it would be safe to assume that most of the players were juiced than how tainted are the records? it leaves a sour taste in my mouth that the first sport i watched as a kid has this cloud of cancer over it. see'n bonds at the game last night was like a ufo sighting. with a father who played in the pros and a godfather as one of the top players to ever play the game, maybe its time to close the book on the steroid era and just say it is what it is and move on.
